London Calling !!

I'm here on the train on my way to London as I'm writing this blog entry and I'm sat with my PG tips tea and Cadbury fingers mini and I'm wondering what I can expect fashion and style wise in London. I'm expecting everyone to look very eclectic, very individual and quite business like. I can't wait to see the eye, Big Ben, Portebello Market, Buckingham Palace and everything in between. I will be using my blog as my personal diary over the next four days. I will share with you the highlights of London along with the style hits and misses I find while I'm there. Expect lots (I mean tons) of photos !

My time in London was amazing. Ive never been to London before and I spent it with some one that I love. I found that it is one if the most romantic cities in the world. Sitting next to the London eye at night drinking mulled wine and looking at the stunning view across the Thames. I loved it so much I didn't want to come back home.

We saw all of the sights thanks to The Big Red Bus company. We saw Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and everything in between. This is a fashion blog so I better talk about clothes now. Oxford Street ! Regent Street ! The epicentres for shopping in London with over a mile and a half of shops ! Including the flagship stores for high street favourites such as Topshop, Topman, Urban Outfitters, River Island and Superdry. Including high end staples such as Burberry, Reiss, Hugo Boss and Guess. Amazing.

The style of the city was all about being warm and being practical. When your running in and out if tubes and up and down escalators women don't really want to have to contend with wearing sky high heels through all of this. This means that they wear comfortable trainers while making they're way to to work and quickly change change shoes before seeing their work colleagues. This also means that they can do a little workout before starting the workday. Hair is simple, either brushed down of in a pony tail.

Mens fashion was fun. It was all about layering. Throwing layers of jackets over one another to keep warm with urban edge. I layered my thin jackets, dark hoodie and river island cardigan over each other to keep warm. I loved the idea of mixing colours and textures together to keep warm but also have fun but be very relaxed and urban with with it.

I also saw The Ballgowns Exhibition was amazing. I saw beautiful dresses from designers such as Mary Katrantzou, Burberry, Marchesa and Alexander McQueen. Stunning.
