LA Skin Care Review
Hello!
Last week I visited Olympia Beauty in London and although I don't work in beauty it's always nice to see another industry and who doesn't like a good few pampering products?! Whilst going around the stalls I found LA Skin Care which is a skin care brand from Sheffield! (woo!). I admit that I've not got model skin and that it could be much better. I was looking for a solution throughout the day and this one hit the mark!
The issue I have with my skin is simply that its a little too oily causing blackheads. Not fantastic and something I've been trying to solve for a while now with many different brands and products but to no such luck. After talking about the brand and the products I found three I wanted to take a chance on.
I decided to focus on three essentials that I knew I could commit too and ones that Louisa (brand founder) recommended for my skin. I purchased the Facial Cleanser, Facial Sugar Scrub and a Hyaluronic Moisturiser. I have used them all for a week now, day and night, and I'm already seeing amazing results! My skin is much less oily and as for my black heads there are no where near as severe as they were! I'm on my way to being blackhead clear finally! These three are great for me too as I'm not much of a morning person if I'm honest and I like that its a simple regime I can stick too and still see results.
This brand for me is like a god send. The products are all naturally inspired, delicious for my skin and best of all animal friendly! A little goes a long way too meaning great value for money. Which is great with everyone's wallets and purses being a little tighter now! An amazing Sheffield brand and one that is definitely one to try, love and share!
What's your beauty regime? Let me know and comment below!

NYFW Review - The Best!
Hello!
Blog time again and this time its all about one of the major events to happen this month (fashion month) which was New York Fashion Week! This is one of my favourite times of the year as it means you can fully immerse yourself in the world of fashion for four weeks and gain an unbearable amount of inspiration! Show after show, collection after collection, social media frenzies and FROW (front row) buzz NYFW came to an end on the 11/09/14. A unfortunate day, however the show must go on. In this blog post I'll reveal my favourite collections! Next time: The "Worst" of NYFW!
Favourites:
4/09/14 - Nicolas K SS15 - This collection was all about effortless safari style. Adventure, drapery, tassels, silks and neutral tones such as khaki, black, white and camel. Beautiful.
05/09/14 - Jason Wu SS15 - A stunning collection. Modern, clean, elegant and soft. This collection to me showcases modern fashion but with classic ideas. Minimal with clean lines, mixtures of prints and textures with drapery, ease and a looser silhouette being key. A beautiful collection.
06/09/14 - Alexander Wang SS15 - Ultra modern with interesting cuts, lines and prints. With the world moving forward so fast and the future becoming ever more realistic Alexander Wang SS15 showcased looks that brought fashion into the modern age. Splashes of colour amongst black and white make for a fun, quite masculine and futuristic but wearable collection. Amazing!
07/09/14 - Diane Von Frustenburg SS15 - A very colourful, fun and lively collection. Gingham, floral, stripes and more prints combined in the collection. Feminine and innocent with a hint of sexy. A great collection. The looks showcased the female form and celebrated being girly and fun with fashion. Kendall Jenner also walked the runway fort he designer!
08/09/14 - Carolina Herrera SS15 - For this collection prints focused on two things. The ultra modern, clean shapes and gradients that can be created on computers and classic floral shapes and colours. Two contradicting concepts mashed together to create intriguing prints for Carolina Herrera's show. Clean and modern this was a lovely show. Elegant, feminine and sophisticated. All what I'd expect from the designer.
09/09/14 - Rodarte SS15 - When I think of this collection three words come to mind. Eclectic, soft and utility. This collection was a mix of utility jackets, drapery and a mix and match of prints, colours and textures. Navy, khaki and white were the main feature colours. Wow!
10/09/14 - Oscar De La Renta SS15 - Wow. Bright, feminine, classic and pretty. This collection showcased what the designer is known for. Being classic and feminine. Pinks, whites, lace, sheer and floral all combined to make a collection that is a must see. These are pieces worth saving up for ladies!
11/09/14 - J.Mendel SS15 - Clean, modern, panels, multicolour fur and drapery. Stunning and fun collection. I haven't viewed many collections by this designer before however that has changed as I can't wait to see what this designer will bring next season.
I think its fair to say that New York Fashion Week brought us amazing fashion for 8 full days! Wow! Stunning collections! What was your favourite collection from NYFW? Let me know! Come back next time to see what collection I thought should've had a little longer on the drawing board! Follow the blog to keep up to date on the latest posts and more! Thank you! Marina & The Diamonds
Welsh songstress Marina and The Diamonds creates fantastic music but also has amazing style. For her Electra Heart album she adopted the classic 1950's style with rollers, A lines, red lips and everything in between. This look created a very classic all American vibe to the album and her overall persona. The album and single covers matched this new look along with the music videos. The style was filled with pastel colours, strong lips and high heels. Ultra feminine but edgy because of the full on vintage look. Bows and knitwear helped give the softness that the look needs to be successful and girly these also help keep hair out of your face on a windy day they also make your face more prominent and show off your beauty. The garments that the style requires are the ever classic 1950's heart neckline dress, knitted cardigans and bra tops are a must. Imagine mixing summer prints and colours with knitwear and your on the right track. Try wearing heart prints, polka-dots and jewel prints to create a cute and luxurious look. The looks were topped off in sky high classic court heels in pinks, nudes and pastel colours along with classic rolled and curled blonde high hair, cat eyes and sexy red lips. Just like the stunning pin ups of the 50's. To add to the cuteness of the style Marina donned a small black love heart on her cheek. This has to be one of my absolute favourite celebrity styles. This woman knows what it takes to be feminine and a little edgy without taking it too far. This is one style that is better seen rather than read about! Enjoy the images. Amazing.
