The Year of the Suit

London-based luxury men's accessories brand specialising in superior handcrafted leather goods for men. Functional Design. Modern Aesthetic. Incredible Craftsmanship. Designed For Life. http://www.troubadourgoods.com
When I think back through the course oaf the year and I reflect on the various styles that have come and gone in mens fashion theres one thing that I think definitely stands out as this year biggest fashion hit. On fashion blogs, on the amazing photo site Pinterest and on the streets there was no way to escape the Dapper trend this year!

This year was the year of the rebirth of the gentleman. I love it when there's a chance to be a little more dressed up and when the term "dress to impress" comes into it's own. This year thanks to this trend I have seen my own personal style change little by little and become slightly more understated and basic. Especially through the latter end of the year.

Navy slim fit 2 button single breasted suit with narrow peak lapel and scoop neck waistcoat to purchase £645 for a 3 piece suit. Shown here in navy mohair

I've done away with the accessories and focused more on the actual garments to make the statement by just being there. Paired with each other to make a simple and classic look. Don't get me wrong I do still love a good accessory but I won't look at rings or necklaces now. Instead I now love a good time piece (love those words "time piece", so classy).

Now this doesn't mean that I'm saving up for a designer suit that cost £2,000 anytime soon at all! Nor does it mean that I am going to exclusively wear two and three piece suits. It's no secret that my favourite thing in my wardrobe are my black stretch skinny jeans from River Island. But I want to try wearing a suit jacket causally with my jeans. Then we will see if a nice pair of trousers comes into play anytime soon too!

As a colour and style this is nice but that jacket is way to short Tweed suit. Burgundy accessories.

Suede Feet

✌️😄Happy Monday! ðŸ˜„✌️It's been a day filled with fabric, sewing and pinning! My back is aching but I can't wait to see my garments worn in November! Very exiting! Watch this space for the looks! What have your plans been today? After having it on loop a little today I've got Jessie J Burin' Up stuck in my head...🎶

I wanted to keep it simple today with my look as I'll be behind a sewing machine all day so I picked a basic print tee with skinny jeans and my black suede Chelsea boots. I've wanted some Chelsea boots for ages now as I feel they add a little dapperness to any look with them both being casual but smart at the same time. Love them! New in at Topman! Best of all? It's one day till payday! Yeah only 1 day! 💰💰💰

Black and Mustard

With clients dresses ordered and other being amended for a national event in London mid November it's nice to have outfits that are great to wear for running to clients for fittings, traveling and comfy enough to continue with blogging, orders and emails etc. when home. For me it's black skinny jeans, a tee and staple black leather boots. I didn't want to look too moody today so I decided to add my mustard scarf!

Have a nice day! Ryan x

Winter Sun

It's Thursday! Finally it's not raining again and the sun is out a little! Ok, it's still a little cold but still! With a list full of designing, photography, call making and general sorting to do for the day I'm thankful for the bit of sun!

Have a good one!

How To Wear Sparkle This Season

Hello!

Every girl likes to sparkle right? But sometimes it can feel like too many accessories and it can make the whole outfit look ruined, over worked and like its trying too hard to be pretty. This season tackles that issue and designers have created ways to make women sparkle in a much more effortless way!

Gem's, sequins and beads galore. Designers such as Balenciaga, Marni, Gucci and more have incorporated these into the garments already meaning that the look is already accessorised for you! No fuss. I love this idea. It means women can just throw on their bejewelled sweater or top and walk out of the door (hopefully with more on than just the sweater or top!) and your already effortlessly glamorous! Designers have clustered the jewels to add extra punch. Be ready to sparkle more than a vampire out of Twilight with this stunning new trend.

Pair with mixes of texture for added style! Add a faux fur trim coat and boots and you've got a stunning autumn and winter 14 look! Happy autumn!

The Front Line

Hello!

Ready to fight? This season sees the return of the utility/military trend. I love this trend as I think its effortless and my military boots from River Island are a major staple in my day to day wardrobe anyway. This is becoming a trend that returns season after season with designers outing their own twists and influences.

Look for tones of khaki, black and sand. Neutral tones work best. A key way to work this trend is to mix textures. Mix wools, leather and faux fur to add major interest and variety to the look. A wool jumper paired with a faux fur trimmed parka with skinny jeans and of course statement military leather boots will work a treat! No accessories needed! Effortless. Designers such as Balmain, Isabel Marant and Balenciaga used this trend for their AW14 shows. An easy way to look at this trend and what you could pull from your wardrobe you have already is to think about utility. Pockets, zips, hoods or waterproof fabric etc. Is the garment very practical?

Guy's you can wear this trend too! The same rules apply!

LA Skin Care Review

Hello!

Last week I visited Olympia Beauty in London and although I don't work in beauty it's always nice to see another industry and who doesn't like a good few pampering products?! Whilst going around the stalls I found LA Skin Care which is a skin care brand from Sheffield! (woo!). I admit that I've not got model skin and  that it could be much better. I was looking for a solution throughout the day and this one hit the mark!

The issue I have with my skin is simply that its a little too oily causing blackheads. Not fantastic and something I've been trying to solve for a while now with many different brands and products but to no such luck. After talking about the brand and the products I found three I wanted to take a chance on.

I decided to focus on three essentials that I knew I could commit too and ones that Louisa (brand founder) recommended for my skin. I purchased the Facial Cleanser, Facial Sugar Scrub and a Hyaluronic Moisturiser. I have used them all for a week now, day and night, and I'm already seeing amazing results! My skin is much less oily and as for my black heads there are no where near as severe as they were! I'm on my way to being blackhead clear finally! These three are great for me too as I'm not much of a morning person if I'm honest and I like that its a simple regime I can stick too and still see results.

This brand for me is like a god send. The products are all naturally inspired, delicious for my skin and best of all animal friendly! A little goes a long way too meaning great value for money. Which is great with everyone's wallets and purses being a little tighter now! An amazing Sheffield brand and one that is definitely one to try, love and share!

What's your beauty regime? Let me know and comment below!

NYFW Review - The "Worst"

Hello!

Last week was New York Fashion Week! Last time I took you through my picks of what I think are the best shows from NYFW day by day. If you missed the post click the link here to check it out: http://bit.ly/1qMaxgC. This time I'm going to reveal the collection that I thought should've had a longer life on the drawing board. I know I said "Worst" collection but that is such a strong word so I'll say my least favourite collection fro  NYFW.

10/09/14 - Jeremy Scott SS 15 - This collection isn't my cup of tea at all. But I also can't decide where it would be anyones cup of tea either honestly. This collection makes me think that Jeremy got a bunch of naughty little kids to draw the designs instead. Yes its fun, loud, wacky and youthful but its not exactly buyable, wearable or stylish (at least not in my eyes). Designers are known for having "out there" tastes when it come to style and fashion however i do think that there is a line where conceit's passed it becomes ridiculous. Its perfect for Miley Cyrus with her new crazy style and album but for us everyday people who love fashion its not. Incidentally Miley walked out with Jeremy at the end of the show.

Dont get me wrong, I like colour, fun and being adventurous with fashion. Just in fashionable ways. If you love the collection then fair play to you and I know that we all have our own opinions and views but this is not what I would ever design or ever buy.

Sorry Jeremy but I think this completely missed the mark…
